On first connection with a USB cable and power applied, the device will display a splash screen (with version info) and the backlight should pulse.
If this does not occur:
• Verify the USB connection to your computer.
• Check the USB cable and ensure any powered hub is receiving power.
If the device powers (as above):
• Open Windows Device Manager and look under Ports (COM & LPT) for a new COM port entry.
• Note: Some USB cables provide power only (charging only) and do not support data transfer. Always use a known data-capable USB cable.
Note: If the device has been successfully connected to the simulator but aircraft power is off, no lights or display is expected. You can confirm the device is connected through the AVNAV/SIM plugin menu.
• Please re-check the plugin installation procedure was followed correctly - the directory structure is important. When installed correctly you will find AVNAV/SIM in the X-Plane plugin menu.
• This is normal when the simulator is paused, in menus, or otherwise not actively running.
